Summary
In 2015, Duvall breaks Shaw out of Monarch captivity, revealing that she joined Monarch after her sister died in the Janjira power plant disaster but has also become disillusioned with it. Cate, Kentaro, and May find them waiting in Caroline’s home. Traveling together to the Algerian Sahara, the team finds Hiroshi using a Titan lure, but he warns them to escape before fleeing. Finding them in Algeria, Tim and other Monarch agents are killed when Godzilla emerges and causes their helicopter to crash. Shaw and Duvall reveal their intent to find and help Godzilla, but Cate, Kentaro, and May leave to follow Hiroshi.
In 1955, Shaw and Miura attend a defense industry ball, where they bond. Randa recalls them to Monarch headquarters, where they learn that Suzuki, a Japanese scientist, has captured isotopic signatures with his Titan lure. As Randa and Miura travel to meet Suzuki, Shaw reluctantly stays behind to present a budget proposal, but he eventually abandons the meeting and joins them in Japan due to his feelings for Miura. Godzilla emerges and destroys the lure. Returning to the United States to inform Puckett of Godzilla’s survival, they learn that he has transferred Monarch’s command in Shaw’s absence.

Summary
Flashbacks show Langston torturing Franz for information. Before being thrown from the helicopter, Franz warns Langston that the “big guy” is coming for him. In the present, Reacher acquires guns for the team, before him and O’Donnell are arrested by Russo. Russo reveals that his team have identified a suspect into the murders, Azari Mahmoud, the owner of the “AM” aliases. Meanwhile, Neagley and Dixon visit the offices of New Age Technologies, where Director of Operations Marlo Burns identifies the man who had been sent to kill them as Trevor Seropian and gives them his address. “AM” realises that his aliases have been blown and tells Langston that his planned arrival in New York will be delayed; meanwhile Dixon deduces that the list of figures discovered on the Franz USB represent days and months. Reacher, Neagley, Dixon, and O’Donnell pay a visit to Seropian’s house, correctly anticipating an ambush, and kill a large number of mercenaries working for New Age. With New Age’s involvement now confirmed, the team conduct a raid on the company’s HQ, finding evidence that Swan had been an employee there.
